After much technical difficulty (finally just bought a new camera!) I got the baptism pictures so here they are.......

Alas.......The Pictures Have Been Saved!

I was so excited tonight that I just had to blog about it. When we took the "no memory" memory card from the broken camera to Sam's Club tonight lo and behold.......THE BAPTISM PICTURES WERE THERE!!! I had to have them stored on to a CD which required me to store ALL 478 pictures that were on the memory card to the CD but I didn't care.....I HAVE THE BAPTISM PICTURES!! So what I'm saying is pictures are coming!!....YEA!! And Chad is VERY happy to be out of "THE DOG HOUSE"!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun......with a little added Disaster!

Over the weekend my Dad asked me "Did you ever think when you were 16 you would be sitting in Benson, Az on the back porch enjoying the weather?" My response was "Nope and I really didn't think I would be in Benson, Az for MY 8 year old son's baptism!!" I can't believe its already been 8 years since I had that dreaded hospital stay only to go home with the cutest little boy ever that is all grown up now. Cayden wanted Tyler to baptize him so he decided to wait a couple of months and do it at the same time that Tyler's son Jayse would be baptised also. So on Saturday both boys were baptized and confirmed by Tyler in Benson. It was such a great baptism with my Mom giving a talk on baptism, Janell's Mom talking on confirmation, my Dad bearing his testimony and all the kids sang "If the Savior Stood Beside Me". I am so thankful to have a brother like Tyler that is such a good example to my son and worthy to baptize him ( and thump him on the head when he gets out of line!) I still can't believe that I have a son old enough to be baptized but I am so glad he made that choice. So now you're wondering why I said a little added disaster aren't you......well let me tell you what happened next!!
We took tons of pictures of the boys in their baptism clothes with families, grandpas, sisters, moms etc etc. I even told Janell oh don't worry I'll take some of Jayse too so you can get ready. My dad told me before we headed to the church "I'm not going to take my camera because it turns into a flash fest so make sure you email me some pictures." Of course I said "Sure NO problem!" We head over to the church baptism is over we take more pictures of the boys in suits etc etc. I hand the camera to Chad who thinks he needs to take a picture of me and then.......it happens........the camera........the cement......they meet!!!! Yes its true the camera was dropped on the cement in the on position and will NOT turn back on! So I say to myself "Self it's ok because we'll just get the pictures off of the memory card when we get home....everything will be ok." So today Chad took the memory card to his office and tried to get the pictures off......."NO MEMORY"..............WOW I don't even know what to say at this point besides "Dad you might want to take your camera next time!" Anyway besides the camera it was a great weekend and I'm so proud of Cayden and Jayse for their great decisions to be baptized and for Tyler for being a great Uncle and Brother.

My Secret Life of Stupidity....While the Kids Are Away

Every other weekend my kids spend the weekend with their dad. For some strange reason this causes something in my little brain to malfunction and I lets just say......Lose My Mind!! So this particular weekend was a little overboard and Chad thought it would be funny to take pictures of me being totally dumb.....and for some dumb reason I thought it would be funny to post those pictures! So here's a little glimpse into my "Secret Life of Stupidity"..,....

This hat came out of Chad's box of Trailer Park Troub Tricks (that was a band he played in years ago) I thought it was so funny......I wore it all day!

Pumpkin Puke

Every year I always loved that it was my mom's idea to carve pumpkins just because I hated the mess the "pumpkin puke" made, however this year Mom.....yeah she isn't just down the road anymore.....and that really stinks by the way. So being the wonderful mom I am (stop laughing I can hear you from here) I decided....my idea!.....that we should carve pumpkins. So we went to Target to get the cool carving kits and Chad picked SAWEET pumpkins as he described them....and a carving we did. Oh did I mention that after I had bought everything my mom called and said "Do you mind if I carve pumpkins with the kids while they are here (they are spending some time with her this weekend.)" UGH if she only would have called an hour earlier! Not really we had fun carving them even with "pumpkin puke" everywhere!

I'm going to have to post the pumpkins when they are lit up.....we forgot the batteries for the candle things that came with the cool carving kits! Anyway the kids picked the "LiteBrite" type of carving kit....kind cool. Chad and I went old school and carved ours out. So when we get the candles ah glowin I'll post the real finished product!

A Weekend with Nana and Papa Fuzz....Whew!

Just thinking about the last weekend wears me out!! We spent the weekend at Nana and Papa Fuzz's(Chad's parents) house with some of his family. Fuzz recruited Chad's band to play at a BoyScout Fundraiser so some of his family came up to hear them play. The rest of us just came to eat....since that is really all you do when you go to Nana's house. But before we made it to their house we met Nana, Rich, Linsey and the kids at Texas Roadhouse. Chad with the "Cuties" after he played his "show" if you can even call it that......let's just say BoyScout Fundraisers don't bring out the youngsters so that being said the band didn't start playing until about 6:30......can't see in the dark to drive home, drums are too loud and bedtime is 7:00....enough said. We had fun anyway!

But the real fun starts when the cinnamon rolls make their appearance. Cayden and Kenna love to help Nana spread the cinnamon and sugar on the dough.....not sure she loves it quite as much as they do but she grins and bears it!

Linsey thought this was well worth blogging about.....ME icing the cinnamon rolls....probably NOT the way Nana wanted them iced.....but it got done down the the very last spot...Thanks to Linsey! Not to mention the special encouragement I had from Jack behind me....cute Jack!

Kids Say The Funniest Things!

This conversation that took place in the car on the way to meet Richard and Linsey for ice cream the other night struck me so funny.....maybe it's a "location" kind of funny but I thought it was funny. It also reminded me of how fast my kids are going up!

(so I didn't hear how the conversation started but here's where I picked up)

Cayden: So Kenna you want "Wicked Az" or what?
Mom: Cayden how do you know what "Wicked Az" even is?
Cayden: Mooommmm my friend's dad owns it....like duh!
Mom: Well what is it then?
Cayden: Its where you go to get fancy coffee.
Mom: ha ha ha wow you do know what it is.
RiKenna: Yeah our friend Bailey's dad owns it mom.
Cayden: So Kenna is Bailey your BFF?
Mom: HA HA HA Cayden did you just say BFF?
Cayden: Yeah?!
RiKenna: No Cayden she's not my BFF
Cayden: Oh so that means she's your BFFL
RiKenna: And Cayden I don't want COFFEEEE...gosh I don't drink coffee but Ashlee does Mom!
Mom: Well good thing I'm not Ashlee's mom huh
RiKenna: Yeah Mom but when can we go back to Aunt Amy's house where they have the stairs that go to their house and a swimming pool not far.
Mom: Aunt Amy doesn't live in that house anymore she moved to a new apartment.
RiKenna: Aunt Amy is SOOOO rich because she buys so many houses.
Mom: HA HA HA she doesn't buy them.
RiKenna: Well then how can she have so many houses when we only have had one.
Mom: She just rents them and then moves when she wants a different one.
RiKenna: hm mm I still think shes rich mom she has lots of houses and moves a lot.

So after the conversation was over and I got done laughing I figured out that I learned Wicked Az sells fancy coffee, my children have BFF and BFFL's (for the not so child savy Best Friends Forever and Best Friends For Life) and Aunt Amy is really rich because she rents an apartment!
